The thing is Elizabeth, if work isn't peer reviewed - i.e. reviewed by someone knowledgeable enough in the field to know whether it is methodologically sound, and is citing sources accurately - then for all the casual reader knows you may have just pulled it out of your arse. As very many newspapers do - which is what this blog deals with, in case you hadn't noticed. Maybe you do know what you're talking about on this issue, but you must admit, the vast majority of anti-vaxxers definitely don't.
