Just to begin with I want to state that I am a Christian who thinks that many are massively over-reacting to cases like this. It is clear that not wearing a necklace whilst working as a nurse seems like pure common sense and to kick up a fuss, especially when the wearing of said necklace is not a requirement of your faith, is only serving the cause of people who feel we are all mindless nutters.
However, the tone of your article is stunning. To attack organised religion by accentuating all negatives and choosing extreme examples whilst ignoring the good works carried out in the name of Christ (and by other religions as well) sounds almost Daily Mail-like in its approach. Most Christians do not ignore the wrongs done by our Church throughout the ages, and there have been many, but I feel that many atheists prefer to see these as the norm, rather than aberrations against peaceful, loving beliefs. You sort of make that point, just, at the very end of the article, just as many right-leaning papers tend to do in their hateful tomes. This could be easily missed, but maybe that's the point. I enjoy your site and the articles within it, but would ask that you make a bigger effort to be less like that which you seek to attack.
