Normally you can glance at comments under any article on the Daily Mail website with the trusty rule of thumb that if the comment is rated green, it is moronic, and if it is rated red then it is sensible and well thought out. Nowhere is this normally more evident than the comments underneath a Richard Littlejohn column.

However, I've been undertaking a project to read every LIttlejohn column from 2008 in order to kind of audit his output (more of this later) and I started to notice that there seemed to be a lot of 'I love Richard' 'Littlejohn for MP!!!!' comments rated red, whilst sensible comments pointing out factual inaccuracies or the sheer lunacy of his arguments were rated green.

This column provides a really good example, moronic comments well into the red (loads of them) whilst sensible and critical comments well into the green. Perhaps Littlejohn only polices the comments under his articles for a few days before he defecates his latest article which he then preciously monitors to ensure the 'Littlejohn for MP!!!!' comments stay green.
